Riffle Shooting
The first step is to have the kids come to KNOW HOW THEY SHOOT NOW. That’s an important step in any learning, because if you don’t know where you start from, you can learn something new but then slowly old habits can creep back in without being noticed. If you know both where you were and where you are and can feel and see the differences, then the learning is deeper. This time (perhaps 20-30 minutes) could be the entire first session if time is limited. Detailed drawings and instructions, with photos, for constructing air rifle target stands. These stands are for use on gun ranges for three-position or standing air rifle shooting.
Rifle Target is capable of managing many shooters simultaneously across many shooting forms and ranges. Though Rifle Target comes with only the forms 2&7, 2&10, 2&15 and Australian and Bisley UK Fullbore Target Rifle ranges, it can easily be extended to support Match Rifle Shooting, Small Bore shooting, Canadian target rifle ranges, Pistol shooting and more (even archery!). Additionally, Rifle Target lets you archive shooters into compressed files for storage when the shooter is no longer active to speed up the program.
Today, Target Shooting remains a highly competitive sport. Competitions are shot over multiple days as individuals and in teams at ranges at times exceeding 800 metres. Despite many misconceptions about the sport itself Target Shooting involves much more than just the ability to squeeze a trigger. To reach the ranks of the top shooters an individual must demonstrate a combination of flawless, consistent technique and a skill for assessing the winds affect on the flight of a bullet. Shooting is a precision sport requiring an understanding of the eye’s perception, light, the psychology of competition and of course the discipline for continual practice. With these skills it is of little surprise that The Scots Rifle Team accommodates some of the College’s high academic achievers.
